A quick and flavorful stir-fry with tender beef, crisp bell peppers, and savory onions, all coated in a mouthwatering marinade. Perfect for a satisfying weeknight meal!
Ingredients:
For the Marinade:
¼ cup soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
For the Stir-Fry:
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
2 large bell peppers (red and green), sliced
1 large onion, sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp ginger, minced
¼ cup beef broth
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp soy sauce (optional, for seasoning)
Instructions:
Marinate the Steak
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil.
Add the thinly sliced steak to the marinade, ensuring it’s fully coated.
Let the steak marinate for at least 30 minutes to soak up the flavors.
Stir-Fry the Steak
Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the marinated steak and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through.
Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Vegetables
In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tbsp vegetable oil.
Add the sliced bell peppers, onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still slightly crisp.
Combine and Heat Through
Pour in the ¼ cup beef broth and an optional 1 tbsp soy sauce for extra flavor.
Return the cooked steak to the skillet and toss everything together for 2-3 minutes until evenly coated and heated through.
Serve the sizzling pepper steak hot with steamed rice or noodles for a complete and satisfying meal.
Enjoy!
