Dutch Apple Bread is made from scratch with butter, sugar and fresh apples. This apple quick bread recipe has amazing flavors and is topped with a cinnamon streusel and drizzled with warm vanilla glaze.

Ingredients:

For the bread:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup sour cream

2 cups chopped apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

For the streusel topping:

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the sour cream, and mix until just combined.

Gently fold in the chopped apples until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.

In a small bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the streusel topping.

Cut in the cold cubed butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the batter in the loaf pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the Dutch apple bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Serve slices of this delicious Dutch apple bread warm or at room temperature.

Enjoy!
