  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 tbsp melted butter

  • Extra cheese for the top

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking dish.

  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion until meat is fully cooked. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Spread half of the cooked beef on top.

  4. Repeat with the rest of the potatoes and beef.

  5. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk, then pour evenly over the beef and potatoes.

  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.

  7. (Optional) Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the cheese.

  8. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Then uncover and bake an additional 20–25 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
