Butter Swim Biscuits

Butter Swim Biscuits – The Fluffiest, Butteriest Biscuits Ever!
If you’re a fan of comfort food that melts in your mouth, then you’re going to fall in love with Butter Swim Biscuits. These golden, fluffy, buttery biscuits literally “swim” in melted butter as they bake — resulting in a crispy edge, soft center, and flavor in every bite. Best of all? You only need 6 simple ingredients and no rolling or cutting dough!

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 ¾ cups buttermilk

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Place a 9×9-inch baking dish into the oven while it preheats (optional, for extra crispy edges).

Step 2: Mix the dough
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. The dough will be sticky — don’t overmix.

Step 3: Butter up!
Pour the melted butter into the baking dish. Carefully spoon the dough over the melted butter, spreading it evenly. The butter will rise around the edges — that’s exactly what you want!

Step 4: Score the dough
Use a butter knife to gently score the dough into 9 squares. This helps with even baking and cutting after.

Step 5: Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are crisp.

Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
