Impossible Cheeseburger Pie

This classic American recipe combines all the flavors of a cheeseburger in a simple, comforting pie that magically forms its own crust as it bakes. Quick to prepare and family-friendly — it’s a perfect dinner solution for busy weeknights!

Ingredients:

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup (60 g) baking mix (like Bisquick)

1 cup (240 ml) milk

2 large eggs

Optional add-ins for extra flavor:

1 tbsp ketchup or mustard

1/2 tsp garlic powder or smoked paprika

Sliced pickles or chopped tomatoes for topping

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) pie plate or baking dish.

In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Season with salt and pepper. Drain any excess grease.

Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared pie dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and baking mix until smooth.

Pour the mixture over the beef and cheese in the pie dish.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let it cool for about 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Serving Tips:

Top with fresh diced tomatoes, lettuce, or pickles before serving.

Serve with burger sauce, ketchup, or a simple yogurt-based dressing.

Can be made in individual ramekins for personal servings.
