Trisha Yearwood’s Butterscotch

Trisha Yearwood’s Butterscotch Bars are a rich and chewy dessert featuring a peanut butter base topped with sweet butterscotch chips and a creamy peanut butter glaze. Perfect for any occasion, these bars are easy to make and deliver a delightful blend of flavors and textures.

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup butterscotch chips

 

 

Instructions:

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until smooth.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Mix Everything: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until just combined. Then fold in the butterscotch chips.

Prepare Baking Pan: Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

Pour and Spread: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Cut: Let the bars cool in the pan before cutting them into squares.
